S-aas Episode 5: Trent Anderson

Super Awesome Artist Show is back!

It took a break following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Being sad and letting sadness rule my life had lasted for a while. Frankly, I just couldn't focus on anything at all.
But other artists were beginning to get together and organize charities in their efforts to help Japan. I was touched and impressed. I still feel useless in trying to do my part. I don't really know what my part is and what I can do. I feel too small to do anything to be honest.
Talking to my mom and listening to her talk about the aftershocks and blackouts, I thought the least I can do now is to not stop living. I need to keep moving forward and doing things, things I can tell my family about. I just simply want to make them happy and proud.

Anyway, that is why Super Awesome Artist Show must stay on!
It's not just for my family though. I must not forget its mission: Unite the world through art. My hope is to support the creative communities and to help keep spirits up, my way.

I know Trent as a very hardworking guy with passion for music. He is sincere and honest. I knew interviewing him would be a great experience for me.
I don't know much about music, especially glam rock. I was afraid to ask stupid questions but I decided to keep the questions simple anyway because S-aas is not a music blog, it's a blog about creative people.
I was inspired by his words on "being who you are" and "do what comes from your heart". My usual dilemma as an artist is being stuck between "doing my thing" and "entertaining others". I question and second-guess myself a lot trying to find my place. I'm extra curious to know how other people think and feel about this.
I also like the way Trent refers to his wife as "Wife" and his daughter as "Daughter". I love it when someone's personality shines through his or her writing. I enjoy recognizing the uniqueness in people I come across. It's awesome!
I should also note that Trent was the fastest person in responding. I sent him the interview questions at night and he sent his answers back next morning. Crazy fast!!! He's like the busiest person I know and I didn't expect that.
Thank you, Trent!

I'm excited about next interview already!

Art in the Library

I'm in this art show "Art in the Library" at Columbia College Chicago from March 31 - May 13th (i think).

I have 7 pieces, old and new. Mostly old, but I don't care. Participating in this show is encouraging and pushing me to do more art.
I said I want to do shows this year, and thanks to my supportive friends, my new year's resolution may be fulfilled. This is a very good start, now I just have to keep going.

I hope to do another episode of Super Awesome Artist Show soon. It's been delayed but still coming. Oh yeah.
